One of the UK’s most successful living artists, Leigh Lambert, will be visiting St George’s this November.
Leigh Lambert, who is renowned for his nostalgic and humorous art, will be completing a meet and greet with artistic shoppers from 12pm-4pm on Saturday, November 4 in The Original Art Shop.
Leigh grew up in the North of England and produces nostalgic and humorous pieces depicting his childhood. His art mixes monochrome backdrops with brightly coloured foregrounds and contain many images that take the viewer straight back to their childhood – chopper bikes and space hoppers, ice cream vans and sweet shops.
Leigh will also be launching his first art book at the event, containing over 100 high quality images of his paintings. Leigh will happily sign and write special dedications on all purchases on the day to make a unique piece of artwork for his collectors.
Robin Carter, who owns The Original Art Shop, said: “When we first opened in 1988 we sold a lot of nostalgic northern street scenes for people who grew up before the war by artists such as Lowry, Arthur Delaney and Tom Dodson, but we were missing some post war pieces. Leigh Lambert’s work hits that spot.
“We can’t wait to welcome Leigh to Preston. He’ll be the first artist to visit our brand new gallery since we moved downstairs in St George’s too. The new space is perfect to present his art at its best and we will have a gallery full of his work for our customers to view.”
