The Baby Beat Appeal

The Baby Beat Appeal is a local registered charity established in 1987 and raises funds for the two Maternity Units and Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) which are part of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Preston and Chorley. With limited NHS budgets, the charity ensures that the 3 units stay at the very forefront of new developments and cutting edge equipment designed to ensure babies born within our community have the very best start to life. Over 4600 babies are born at the two maternity units combined and approximately 500 babies need the specialist care of NICU.

The charity remit covers four key areas: before pregnancy with research, during pregnancy with the latest monitoring equipment and technology to date including the wellbeing of the Mother, following delivery with Neonatal equipment for premature and sick babies and sadly beyond with bereavement support and care.
