Student Blog Post

Hey all, the weather is looking up at the minute and summer is here!

A couple of weeks ago I took a trip to St George’s Shopping Centre and I looked in all their lovely fashion shops. They have so many fabulous holiday pieces in at the minute that I just had to try some on…all the clothes I tried on vary from size 14 to 16.

I took a trip into New Look first and discovered these pieces at great prices.

First of all, the accessories are stunning.

I love these sandals so much, at £23.99, they are so worth it. They have a height to them and can be worn with any outfit. The ones I picked up to try were these black ones, they have a nice strap and are so comfortable to wear. The style is so different to what I normally go for, but I couldn’t leave them without trying them on!

They also match this black straw bag that is a great size, it can fit in your everyday bits and some more sunny alternatives like your sunglasses, sun cream and that summer book you’re reading. The bag is £22.99 and comes in different colours, I love the black one because I know I’ll be able to wear it with every outfit.

I also tried on these figure loving playsuits.

I think these are great for wearing to the beach or when the weather is warmer. This black and floral one is so stunning with little cuff sleeves, if you’re not too confident with your arms this is perfect! For £19.99 it’s the perfect summer playsuit. The length is great too because being a mid size girl I often suffer with chaffing… I’m sure I’m not the only one!

This one is a different style because of the cut out section in the middle. The detailing on this playsuit is lovely. The simple black and white stripes are so back in fashion at the minute and is priced at £17.99.

Both have unique details to them and they can be lovely to show of your tan whilst you’re away.

I’m really loving slogan tees at the minute and New Look have some really affordable ones. This yellow one is so good for summer, pricing at £9.99. It can be paired with some mom jean shorts or a cute skirt. I tried it on with this denim skirt with a frilly edging at the waist, I fell in love with it. It’s the perfect length and is super comfy around the waist. This is perfect for the price of £19.99.

I adore their midi dresses so much. I recently picked up their black and white checkered dress and its so figure friendly. I decided to try on this beauty. I think this is the perfect summer dress, the detailing in the flowers and the colours makes it stand out and the fabric is so soft and comfortable. At £22.99, I think I may have to pick up some more.

Next I explored Claire’s Accessories.

I love anything that can keep my hair out of my face and they had so many nice headbands and scrunches’.

Claire’s have a deal on at the minute where you buy three and get three free which I think is a great offer as no one can have too many accessories!

Look at these headbands! They are so pretty. I love the detail of the striped print and both cost £5.50/£6.00. The colours can make a plain outfit look that little fancier.

This yellow bandana style at £5.00 is great for whilst around the pool sunbathing!

I also spotted these pack of scrunches. Both have three bobbles in the set and have a lovely theme of colour. I love the blue set as the floral pattern is super cute and can be paired with the black sandals and bag from New Look.

Also the yellow pack is perfect for matching with the yellow slogan tee! Accessories make any outfit that little more put together.

Each pack costs £5.00 or you can pick up this bandana style bobble for £4.50 which is super cute and different.

I then had a look in Footasylum for a browse of their summer sandals and pumps.

I immediately had to try these checkered Vans because I have always loved the white and black ones but these are so nice to wear with a dress or some shorts whilst in the sun. They are priced at £51.99 and I think this is great value for a good pair of pumps.

I also tried on their huge range of sliders and these two caught my eye.

I love the rose gold colour of the Tommy Hilfiger ones because they’re different from anything I’ve seen before. They priced at £29.99 and I think that’s fab for a decent pair of sliders.

I also spotted these black Calvin Klein’s and they look so nice too. They are so comfy so they’re perfect for around the pool and for walks to the beach. They were also a great price at £29.99.

Footasylum had a huge sale on for summer sliders so grab a pair while you can because have you seen the range they are selling… so much to choose from!

The last shop I visited was Quiz. I love this store for lovely dresses to wear to weddings and fancy blouses to wear with jeans. Whilst in there I found this stunning yellow blouse! For £24.99 it has a pretty frilly edge detailing and the colour drew me in. I had to try it on, I think this is perfect for a summer wedding. It’s so figure friendly and matched with these £24.99 sandals it makes a great formal summer outfit!

Each of the retail stores had something I absolutely loved and will be wearing so much over summer! Take a trip to St George’s Shopping Centre in Preston and shop till you drop, have a little summer wardrobe re-vamp!

Go on, treat yourself!
