About St George’s

St George’s is at the heart of shopping in Preston, offering an eclectic mix of high street retailers, independent stores and some great places to eat.

St George’s first opened in March 1966 as St George’s Shopping Centre. It was originally an open-air centre and was roofed over during refurbishment in 1981. It was further revamped in 1999.

The shopping centre rebranded as The Mall in 2002 and back to St George’s in 2009.

In 2015, St George’s was acquired by InfraRed Capital Partners Limited from Aviva. It has since welcomed a number of new brands including Patiserie Valerie, Entertainer and Swarovski while revealing a series of investment plans.
